Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th of 1946 from Locust Ridge Tenn into a struggling family that would one day have 12 children. Dolly Parton learned early to be free from life's hardships through her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Before she began learning to write and read, she began making up her own songs. The first time she picked up a guitar was when she was just 8 years old and started singing at a Knoxville Tenn radio station at 11 years old. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While still in highschool, she became famous locally but was always dreaming of a larger stage. She moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female performer to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton was hired in 1966. She was then signed to RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 due to her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene over-sold the collaborations. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and the song reached No. In 1974, the song by Parton I Will Always Love You climbed to the No.
